Hello everybody!! See u again with me. Today I want to tell
you about Application Letter.
Definition: A letter of application, also known as a cover
letter, is a document sent with your resume to provide additional information
on your skills and experience. A letter of application typically provides
detailed information on why are you are qualified for the job you are applying
for.
Structure:
1. Sender/Contact Details
List your contact details at the top of
the document.
2. Subject
The recipient should be able to see
immediately what kind of document they have and what position you are applying
for.
3. Greeting
If you know your contact person, you can
address them by name. If this person has a title, you should use it – if there
are several titles, the highest title is sufficient.
4. Introductory Remarks
The introduction is about arousing the
reader’s interest in only 3 to 5 lines so that they do not immediately reject
your application.
5. Main Body
This section is about selling yourself as a
worker and person as convincingly as possible.
6. Corporate Reference
In this section, you will answer the
following questions: How can I enrich the company and why did I choose this
company as my employer? You should give the reader the impression that you are
the perfect candidate for the position.
7. Ending
The last impression is one of the most
important. However, if the reader has held out to the end, the cover letter has
probably already been interesting enough so you will only have to do a little
persuasion work.

Trainee position you listed recently on the MOC Job Network. I have reviewed
Enterprise Rent-a-Car’s web page and am very impressed with your company’s
commitment to excellent costomer service and your employee development training
program. I will be graduating from Mount Olive College in August and am actively
seeking a retail management position.
As you will note in the enclosed resume. I have had
meaningful practical experience in both retail sales and customer service. My
positions at The Gap and Belk’s have given me the ability to work with a wide
variety of clientele. In addition, I have completed several courses in
management while pursing my baccalaurcate degree In business administration. My
experiences as Secretary of the Mount Olive College Phi Beta Lambda (national
business organization) and as a member of the MOC softball team have also

position with you further. I will be in Wilmington the week of February 4th and
